String inverter or microinverters
A string inverter converts the power of the whole array in one place. It is the simplest option for a roof with one or two orientations and little shade.
Microinverters work panel group by panel group. They suit small roofs, several orientations and partial shade, and make it easy to add panels later.
Single-phase or three-phase
Follow the home's grid connection. Grid operators in several EU countries limit single-phase feed-in, so larger residential systems are often three-phase.
Leaving room for a battery
If storage is likely within a few years, a hybrid inverter now avoids replacing the inverter later. It runs without a battery until one is added.
